Jacques Darcel Salon- Manhattan, New York
Despite its long, narrow shape, the wig shop has been zoned to provide generous display space for merchandise, space for fitting and work, and privacy to customers who want it. The zones are divided by a shaped soffit across the ceiling, which not only screens the lighting but avoids any tunnel-like effect due to the shop's elongated shape. To provide an exterior area for display, the entrance is recessed and a reception/waiting area is provided nearby. Mirrors are provided for use by customers and to give a greater sense of space.
