Portable Prefab Classroom & Auditorium - New York, New York
The Harlem Children Society, founded by Dr. Sat Bhattacharya, promotes awareness for motivated underprivileged children in the sciences, medicine, engineering and mathematics. HCS students are given a leave of absence from their schools and inducted as interns at prestigious institutions including Maimonides, Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, New York University, and Columbia University. In addition the students attend weekly lectures on a variety of topics from incorporating science into communities to funding a college education.

The Portable Prefab Classrooms and Auditoriums are intended to fulfill the needs of their students in the city, eliminating the need to transport students to institutions and lowering the cost of space withing institutions.

The Portable Prefab Classroom and Auditorium uses a Computer Numerical Cutter (CNC) System to cut and prepare the building components, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to precisely assemble the parts. The disassembled building is designed to fit in a trailer and easily towed to the site by a pickup truck.

The classrooms and auditoriums are well-built and insulated. They are equipped with fire exit devices and alarms. The windows and doors are vandal proof.
